I've been hiding ‘neath the fallout of my hope since this November,
I’ve been riding horses in the hills to get myself away.
If I've ever felt this lonely in my life I can't remember,
And never did I think that so much hate would now hold sway.
The sun still rises brightly in the eastern skies at morning.
But its shadows now seem darker and stretch longer ‘cross the way.
And history's lessons learned now seem to scream a dire warning,
But no one seems to pay it any mind now anyway.
Well, the six-gun’s firing blanks,

The LGBTQ community is labeled sinners
And racism's apparent like the Emperor's new clothes.
And all I feel is loss when I look at the nation's winners.
Who self-congratulate themselves by feasting with the crows.
I can't believe we still fight for the equal rights of women.
I can't believe there's arguments for putting guns in schools.
This fighting's got us drowning when we all should just keep swimming,
And ride the tide onto our land we've wrested from the fools.

While the left’s still got the shakes,
Somebody throw the fucking towel in before I find a soul to save,
And the well that once quenched hopeful hearts dried up Election Day...
